The Syrian Minister of Agriculture, "Basel Al-Suwaydan," discussed ways to develop agricultural, trade, and economic relations between Syria and Turkey, and to enhance joint cooperation prospects to serve the interests of both countries, with a Turkish parliamentary and economic delegation.The meeting, held today, Sunday, in Damascus, was attended by the Chairman of the Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Agriculture, "Mohammad Janan." It addressed means to develop joint Syrian-Turkish work in the agricultural field, and support the sector by exchanging expertise between Syrian and Turkish businessmen, as well as exchanging agricultural products and processed meats.The Turkish delegation included Member of Parliament "İbrahim Yurdunuseven," the Chairman of the "Yusufoğlu" Group for International Relations, Investment, and Turkish Exhibition Organization, "Hamzaoğlu," and the group's Executive Director, Alufa Yusufoğlu. It also included Hüseyin Ceylan Uluçay, Chairman of the Board of the major Turkish meat production and processing company "Enfes Et," and Mehmet Kumartaşlı, Chairman of the Board of "Kumartaşlı Gıda ve Yumurtacım," one of the leading Turkish companies in table egg production, fodder, and the poultry industry. Additionally, several businessmen and investors from the Chamber of Commerce of Afyonkarahisar Province attended.Minister Al-Suwaydan stressed the importance of reviving joint Syrian-Turkish ties and expressed the ministry's readiness to provide all necessary facilities. He noted an ongoing project to establish a holding company that includes production institutions related to livestock, fisheries, poultry, and fodder. He highlighted the ministry's desire to attract foreign investors to the egg and broiler poultry sectors, alongside offering tax exemptions for investors.Yurdunuseven explained that Syrian-Turkish relations are witnessing continuous development at the economic and trade levels, expressing the Turkish side's readiness to support companies and factories wishing to expand their activities and cooperate with the Syrian market.In turn, the Chairman of the "Yusufoğlu" Group, "Hamzaoğlu," stated that the talks covered the Syrian market's needs for high-quality food commodities and agricultural products. He noted that preparations are underway, in cooperation with the Ministry and the Chamber, to organize an agricultural products exhibition next September at Al-Jalaa Hall.A high-level Turkish parliamentary and economic delegation had arrived at Damascus International Airport on the 19th of this month for an official visit to the Syrian Arab Republic, aiming to strengthen economic, trade, and agricultural relations between the two countries and develop joint cooperation.This visit comes amid growing mutual interest in developing Syrian-Turkish economic relations and opening new horizons for cooperation between private sector institutions in both countries, aiming to achieve mutual benefits and boost investment and development opportunities
