He pointed out that this industry, which used to export to countries worldwide, has declined, and the Chamber is currently working to revive this profession and bring back silkworm rearing due to its great economic and heritage value.Furthermore, both sides discussed topics related to nurseries, agricultural production requirements for both plant and animal sectors, and mechanisms for importing them from India. This aims to reduce production costs for the Syrian national product and contribute to the recovery and development of the agricultural sector. The possibility of re-exporting products to global markets was also touched upon. Her Excellency the Indian Ambassador expressed full readiness for cooperation. It was agreed to hold consecutive meetings and sign memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Agriculture and the relevant authorities in India to serve import and export operations and enhance the mutual interests of both countries
