The Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Agriculture held a press conference at the conclusion of the Turkish economic delegation's visit to Syria. Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing agricultural cooperation between the two countries, expanding partnerships, and exchanging expertise to support agricultural production and achieve sustainable development.Mr. Mohammad Jannat, Chairman of the Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Agriculture, spoke about the memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed between his chamber and the Afyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Turkey. These agreements aim to boost joint agricultural cooperation to serve the interests of both nations, alongside an agreement to revitalize agricultural activities, exchange expertise, and utilize all available capabilities.During the visit, further steps were taken to revitalize agricultural work. Under the auspices and generosity of the Minister of Agriculture, a Turkish bazaar featuring Turkish food supply companies will be announced at Al-Jalaa City in Mazzeh. Additionally, a schedule for joint committees will be studied to implement the outcomes of the tour on the ground.Jannat expressed his happiness regarding the Turkish delegation's visit, noting it as a primary step for a series of upcoming meetings and future cooperation between both sides.For his part, Hamza Oglu, Chairman of the "Yusuf Oglu" Group for International Relations, Investment, and Exhibition Organization, confirmed that this visit is the result of a year-long exchange of commercial delegations between the two countries. He highlighted the importance of maintaining this path to strengthen economic and agricultural cooperation between both sides.Oglu also announced that on October 14, 2025, a protocol was signed to boost relations concerning agricultural mechanization and livestock production. This followed a previous visit to Turkey by the Chairman of the Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Agriculture and an accompanying delegation, during which they toured factories, plants, and agricultural machinery facilities. Today’s high-level delegation visit, which includes several businessmen, serves as a reciprocal visit. Furthermore, the Syrian Ministry of Agriculture will sponsor a Turkish Agricultural Festival, organized in cooperation with the Chamber, on September 26 of this year. Today, the Turkish delegation concluded the groundwork to further revitalize agricultural relations between the two countries.Oglu expressed his appreciation to the Syrian side and the Ministry of Agriculture, represented by its Minister, for the provided support and facilities.
