The Minister of Agriculture, Engineer "Basel Al-Suwaidan", inaugurated the activities of the International Exhibition for Agricultural and Veterinary Supplies "AgriTex". The event features the participation of 84 specialized companies and 158 brands from Syria, alongside several Arab and foreign countries, in a step aimed at enhancing cooperation, exchanging expertise, and supporting the development of the agricultural and livestock sectors.Al-Suwaidan stressed that the exhibition comes in light of increasing challenges related to food and water security. He pointed out the importance of unifying efforts and elevating the agricultural and veterinary sectors to keep pace with modern development requirements.He explained that veterinary companies make up about 60 percent of the total participants, reflecting a growing interest in livestock health, strengthening veterinary control, and supporting the trend toward achieving self-sufficiency in animal products. He emphasized that the Ministry continues to support the agricultural and veterinary sectors by developing governing investment legislations, simplifying licensing procedures, and encouraging public-private partnerships, in addition to supporting scientific research and localizing modern technologies to help raise production efficiency and promote sustainable agricultural development.The Minister of Agriculture also stressed the importance of enhancing Arab and regional cooperation in the fields of agricultural and veterinary quarantine, as well as exchanging expertise to confront transboundary diseases, thereby contributing to the protection of animal and plant wealth and achieving sustainable agricultural development
