This contributes to developing the agricultural sector and raising its production efficiency.Expanding Production and Building PartnershipsThe Chairman of the Damascus and Countryside Chamber of Agriculture, Mohammad Jannan, confirmed to SANA that the "Agritex 2026" exhibition serves as an economic platform that brings together agricultural and industrial producers, investors, and traders. This enhances integration between the agricultural sector and food industries, opening new horizons for expanding production, marketing, and establishing investment partnerships that support the national economy.Jannan pointed out that these specialized exhibitions contribute to developing agricultural production, supporting national products, strengthening food security, and increasing exports, highlighting the international participation which positively reflects on the development of the Syrian food industries sector.Reviewing the Latest Veterinary Medicines and VaccinesOn his part, the Head of the Syrian Veterinary Medical Association, Hussein Al-Blan, explained that the exhibition provided an opportunity to view the latest medicines and vaccines for livestock. He emphasized the importance of the participation of companies specialized in the veterinary supplies sector due to their role in highlighting the latest scientific developments in this field, especially regarding the production of specialized vaccines such as foot-and-mouth disease vaccines, thereby supporting and developing the veterinary sector.Al-Blan noted the foreign participation of agricultural and veterinary companies, particularly from Turkey and Jordan, and the modern products and technologies they offer to serve the animal production sector. He stated that work is underway with the Ministry of Agriculture and government authorities to establish a mechanism that allows the entry of veterinary medicines and vaccines, ensuring their availability when needed, especially during emergencies or shortages in poultry and livestock vaccines.Exchanging Expertise and Enhancing CommunicationIn turn, the Head of the Syrian Agricultural Engineers Association, Mustafa Al-Mustafa, stressed that the "Agritex" exhibition is one of the most prominent specialized agricultural events, as it showcases the latest products and technologies related to plant and animal production. It also provides a platform for exchanging expertise among participants and enhancing communication between producers and consumers.Al-Mustafa explained that the participation of companies specialized in fertilizers, agricultural supplies, and modern technologies reflects positively on farmers by developing the production process and increasing agricultural production efficiency, which contributes to boosting crop yields and improving the quality of agricultural products.More than 158 brands representing 84 companies from Syria and the region are participating in the 24th session of the International Exhibition for Agricultural and Veterinary Supplies (Agritex 2026), which kicked off yesterday, Thursday, at the Damascus Exhibition City.
